This is one of several interesting and very readable books regarding Critical Theory/Critical Pedagogy. There is also another good book by Kincheloe called "The Critical Pedagogy Primer" which is even more basic in its presentation. I think that this book along with the "Primer" are two good "beginner books" as the student can begin his or her reading without having a strong background in the area.I personally love anything that Kincheloe has written due to his friendly writing style. My major is in Curriculum Theory. This is, I think, a really helpful book for those students who are starting out and want to look at this area as it relates to the educational system in the United States.
