Misty Beller just keeps writing one great book after another. So enjoyable. I recently spent the last 3 weeks in the Philippines on vacation and read a lot on the long journey there and back and this was one of the books I read. It was such a great read and a great follow up to, "The Treacherous Journey." Many of the same characters that I grew to love in that book are in this one. "The Treacherous Journey" is Emma Malcolm's story. "The Wilderness Journey" is her twin brother, Joseph Malcom's story. This book was an adventure just like the "The Treacherous Journey was." There was a lot of action and suspense and sad parts but there were funny parts as well. The funniest part to me was when Joseph is talking to Thunder Rumbles and Three Shadows about getting Monti back from the Kanai who are holding her against her will. Joseph asks if they should pretend to be one of them. The Three Rivers says, "You think you look Kanai? Joseph shrugged. "My sister's husband did it once to save her from the Apsalooke. He almost got away. Three Shadows spat on the ground. "Apsalooke not have good eyes.Once again I enjoy how scripture is woven into the story how it uplifts, calms, and impacts the lives that have been touched by it. Especially moving for me is when Monti feels the words come to her mind, "The battle is not yours; but God's." She remembers the story of King Jehosphaphat. And then followed by the subsequent episode where Joseph is able to free Monti with the help of the Peigan Indians.

This Wilderness Journey Heart of the Mountains Book 2 edition by Misty M Beller Religion Spirituality eBooks Reviews
Wow, if you want adventure, this series is for you. Great descriptions of area as well as the hardships in making this adventurous journey. You will be anxious to read the other books.
This was a great story. I enjoyed the storyline and people. It was like it would have been back in those times. The wilderness wild and unknown.
Misty Beller is one of the most talented writers I've ever come across. I was caught up in the story from beginning to end. I enjoyed how she addresses our struggles with trying to trust God while facing difficulties.
Great series! No one has a perfect life; only a perfect heavenly Father. Misty Beller crafts a tale of imperfect people who trust a perfect God. God never promises us a life free of heartache and cares. Instead, He promises to be with us on this journey we call life. Joseph and Monti face an unknown future; but they learn to trust the One who knows all things.
Had I not read book one, I would have enjoyed book two. However the plot of the second book is just a retell of the first book with a change of characters.
I'm not a word person myself so writing reviews are painful to me but I had to say something about Misty's latest book. I have read all of her books, I believe, and she keeps getting better and better. I love how she builds her characters and takes us back in time. Her stories are encouraging and keep you hooked from early on. Thanks for the early copy of this one, Misty, but now I can't wait for the next one! Keep them coming!
I was so excited to read This Wilderness Journey after reading the first book, This Treacherous Journey. Book 1 introduced us to this book’s hero, Joseph Malcolm. I loved that we were able to revisit his twin sister and family. Things have happened that have changed his outlook on life, and he is a bit lost. However with some soul searching and love, he finds his way again. I especially loved Monti’s bravery, adaptation to a new lifestyle, and internal beauty. I also loved Joseph’s and Monti’s interaction with the children like sweet Hollow Oak. The book reminds us that trusting in the Lord can bring blessings into your life that you didn’t even know were part of His plan for you. This book was well paced, and I didn’t want to put it down.
